How to get started with chickens

Are you a chicken fancier? That's apparently the correct term for a person who likes keeping chickens, but it seems a bit full on! Actually, I just googled it and apart from being the correct terminology for a person who likes keeping chickens, the urban definition would have that it is also "An adult male homosexual sexually attracted to underage males", so forget I started this post with that question.

There's also a sweet gallery made up of some lovely bloggers' pets. Awwww...

Come over and say hi!

We were supposed to get chooks for Christmas but Daddy R is dragging his feet when it comes to building the chicken coop.
Maybe Easter.

I always wanted chickens. I would love to have. But you need to be set up properly and have a coup that will keep the fox out. Free range eggs all the time lovely yellow yoke.....heaven

You're right. You HAVE to stop googling stuff. Is it even true? The fancier bit?

I actually do want chickens, but our neighborhood association won't allow them and I'm also afraid that our dogs would eat them. But I sooo want fresh eggs all the time.

I have to laugh. I read this after your next post (Quelch) where you had said "I have to stop Googling things". Now I see why. :-)
